Panacur dosing, straight off the label
Panacur is Merck Animal Health's brand of fenbendazole, a benzimidazole dewormer that has held its place on clinic shelves for close to fifty years. Dogs meet it as Panacur C — 22.2% granules in single-day packets — and horses as a 10% oral paste in a graduated syringe. The mechanism rewards patience: repeated daily doses starve the worm of its grip, so the course is measured in consecutive mornings, not in one heroic serving.
The dog-side arithmetic is one number: 50 mg of fenbendazole per kilogram of body weight per day — 22.7 mg per pound — for three days in a row. That is why the boxes are colored by weight rather than by breed or age: 1 gram of granules is exactly a 10 lb dog's day, 2 grams a 20-pounder's, 4 grams a 40-pounder's. Heavier dogs stack packets, and the table below is lifted straight from the back panel of every box.

02What a course clears
Panacur C's label names the four intestinal worms that account for most of what a dog carries home from soil, prey and littermates:
- Roundworms — Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina, the classic puppy burden
- Hookworms — Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala
- Whipworms — Trichuris vulpis, the patient re-seeder of yards
- Tapeworms of the Taenia species — the flea-carried Dipylidium is a different drug's job
