Feed-room note

Why Panacur takes three mornings in a row

Plenty of dewormers advertise a single heroic dose. Fenbendazole works differently, and the difference is the point. It kills slowly, by starving the worm's cells of the scaffolding they need to absorb food — a mechanism that needs sustained contact, not one big wave.

Three consecutive daily doses keep the drug level in the gut high across every stage of the worms' shifts. Larvae that were migrating on day one are feeding by day three; a single-day treatment misses them, a three-day course does not. This is why the box is three packets and not one bigger packet.

Skipping a day restarts the clock in the worms' favor. If a morning gets away from you, do not double up the next bowl — just continue until three full daily doses have gone down, and mention the gap to your vet if you are treating something specific like Giardia, where they may run the course to five days.

The horse-side rhyme is the Powerpac: five days at a doubled dose, aimed at encysted small strongyle larvae hiding in the gut wall where single-dose wormers cannot reach them. Different species, same philosophy — patience beats force.

Weigh. Stir. Three mornings.

That is the whole ceremony this room exists for. Every card on these shelves opens the live Amazon listing at whatever the seller is asking today — the feed room just makes sure you walk out with the right box.
